What is Reiki?

Whether you believe in spirit, energy, etc, one thing that we do know is that we are made of energy. When we experience things such as emotional or physical injury, negative thoughts (worry, anger, anxiety, negative self-talk), environmental toxicity, damaging lifestyle choices, unhealthy relationships, lack of self-love, emotional suppression, and more, we can develop significant energy blocks and/or imbalances.

Reiki works in a subtle energy field to help reduce these blocks and re-establish movement and connection throughout your energy body.

Just like acupuncture uses needles to re-establish electric firings in the body to enhance communication, Reiki does a similar effect but is non-evasive.

What can Reiki help with?

Reiki compliments traditional Western Medicine and helps as a stand alone treatment as well. Everyone can benefit from receiving Reiki

  • Increases creativity
  • balances energy
  • helps release negative emotions
  • relieves stress
  • promotes relaxation
  • activates and supports the body's natural healing capacity
  • assists in the integration of other cognitive of psychological therapies
  • supports integration of physical therapies

What to Expect During Reiki Treatment: A Brief Overview

During session the Client remains clothed, and lays on the treatment table.

The Reiki Practitioner moves around the body, and may gently place their hands on certain energy centres, major organs, or other specific blocks (scars, injury sites, etc). Crystals and oils may be used to enhance the work, and will be discussed before starting session.

Typically Clients report feeling a sense of relaxation, and some will feel coolness/warmth, tingling, pulses or vibrations in their body, while others report no sensations. Each session is unique and no treatment is replicable because of the different things addressed.

After a session it is common to feel thirsty, hot/cold, and experience heightened sensitivity to emotions.
